1950's
"The Eelpout Monster" - Near Alexandria, Minnesota
Named so during the late 1940's by a group of winter ice-fishing anglers
who witnessed a naked and very ugly 7-foot tall woman whose body was covered
in hair, walk casually onto the ice, stealing their catch of eelpout.
After a day's fishing in harsh blowing winds, the catch stolen amounted
to one large eelpout. The creature walked away leaving the beer-drinking
Lake Mary anglers stunned.
