Reading up on the records of unusually tall human people where there was irrefutable medical evidence gave me pause to reflect & wonder if these people had so many medical issues mostly related to bone weaknesses and the inability for their legs to carry their weight; then why is the height of the Sasquatch people not as problematic? Or is it?
From Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis there exists the record of a young man by the name of Robert Wadlow, who has been listed as the world's tallest man ever recorded.
Wadlow reached a staggering height of 8 feet 11.1 inches (2.72m) and weighed 490 lbs (220kg) nearly 500 lbs at his death at the tender age of 22 years old. He was plagued with
physical problems, not the least of which was leg weakness, bone deterioration and serious back problems.
His legs were unable to support Wadlow's surprising height, which caused
a great weakness in his limbs forcing him to wear leg-braces in order to walk; he could not ambulate without the braces. Wadlow's worst battle was the lack of feeling in his legs; his feet lacked sensation; were cold & numb most of the time from lower extremity arthro, vaso and neuropathy problems (which is a challenge in peripheral nerve function that expresses itself in pain, numbness, tingling, swelling and muscle weakness in various parts of the body). These issues were mimicked in his massive length of arm resulting in tingling or complete numbness in his finger tips, hands and the inability to raise his forearm at times.
It leaves one to wonder if any of these physical problems with atypical human height ever translated over into the Sasquatch people, specifically the males whose average height and weight distribution is often said to be equal to that of Wadlow's? Must the Sasquatch have any of these same issues? We can only speculate.
Despite his limitations, Wadlow was never confined to a wheelchair, but that may be due to his youth because other cases in his height range & weight distribution have been confined to wheelchairs at an early age. Unfortunately, a faulty leg brace irritated Wadlow's ankle, causing a blister to form and the subsequent infection resulted in his premature death.
Let's look at some other instances. To give you an idea of what exactly “over seven feet tall” looks like, have a look at the tallest man from Mongolia, a herdsman by the name of Bao Xishun. In this video, notice the difficulty he has with his ambulatory processes…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_fjrtxih2o&feature=related
Then in this video, notice the size of his hands when compared to the host, who said he was 6 ft 1 inches tall; the difference in hand size is amazing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTrRM9C6K20&NR=1&feature=fvwp These video examples give us a mental picture of the overall visual we might see in the Sasquatch.
China's Bao Xishun may have lost his title to countryman Zhao Liang who stands 2.46 meters tall (8 ft 1 inch). He was recently measured by Chinese physicians who were treating him for a foot injury in the coastal city of Tianjin, China. If the measurement becomes officially recognized, Zhao will be ten centimeters taller than Bao Xishun. Zhao used to be a basketball player in Central China's Hunan Province, but his career was abruptly cut short eight years ago with the foot injury.
That video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSS0wYPnoPg&feature=related
It is hard to imagine Zhao playing basketball when we notice the difficulty all these tall people have walking; there is seemingly no fluidity or gracefulness, no ease of motion to their locomotion and they all wear leg support in the manner of metal-padded braces.
There doesn't seem to be an issue with the height ratios with the Sasquatch. There are many reports indicating ease of motion, swift movement through the brush, even their speed in chasing cars and motor bikes. That we hear stories about the Sasquatch moving through dense underbrush with lightning speed is utterly remarkable given their unusual size and what is generally perceived as clumsiness or awkward agility in those of uncommon height … and that the primitive ones often move with ease in dense bush in the dark of night is beyond belief. Given the years I've been focused on the issues that surround the Sasquatch, there is still much I cannot comprehend and much I have yet to reconcile.
In the taller Asian citizens, there tends to be a degree of distortion in facial bone and jaw structure; the ears seem larger than the Squatch. Even more striking, the individuals cited here all have very deep voices as does the world's tallest woman; her voice was very low-toned, deep & masculine sounding.
The depth of her voice tone surprised me. China's tallest woman easily measured in at 7 ft 7 inches tall; incredible! Notice her huge hands, what appears to be some cognitive deficiencies and the difficulty she has getting in an upright position and in rising to walk; she clearly asks not to be touched or she loses balance. She lacks the muscle development to sit up easily and stay sat up for more than an hour. It reminded me of the struggle one has with balance when walking on stilts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErrGr1PP1SU&feature=related
In the YouTube video, I was struck by the width of the woman's size 26 shoes…very wide! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr81-rbETeo If you use the stop/pause button repeatedly at 2:18 minutes into this video the enormity of her feet can be observed. Her feet seem to have all the ear-marks of a Sasquatch foot minus the prolific growth of hair and the calloused pad. It would seem the extreme width & length of a tall person's foot is basic to their overall balance; at least it seems that way in the Sasquatch foot except that the Sasquatch foot strength has as its ally enormous well-muscled thighs, legs and elevated buttocks with highly developed gluteus maximus muscles, - - is muscle toning the key to their seemingly ease of movement?
If the Sasquatch people are not plagued with these disabilities, then muscle mass and muscle development must be the primary adaptation for their ability to survive in the wilderness, or it would seem. Just how their legs support the weight and height is another mystery we should be concentrating our energies on…
As I wrote this commentary last month, I was reminded by one of the academics of the high number of accounts that speak of the Sasquatch
reportedly seen sitting, laying down or squatting as opposed to those seen standing or mobile upright encounters. I haven't taken the time to run the numbers but I imagine they tally equally the same.
We also note that these afore-mentioned humans of excessive height are incapable of the same length of step that the Sasquatch produces, despite their extraordinary length of leg; the balance simply isn't there, yet the Sasquatch manages very well his extended step. Not only does Bigfoot have an extended length of step but it must have extraordinary balance to leave the straight line of tracks in the sand that it does as opposed to the left-right, left-right off-set line of tracks that we leave in the soil.
We don't see well developed muscles in any of the human tall persons except maybe for Sun Ming Ming, also from China. So how do male giants play basketball like 7 ft 9 in tall Sun Ming Ming? In this video, Sun Ming doesn't seem to have the fluid motion that other shorter players seem to have, in fact some of his moves are quite awkward:

Referring again to John Green's Sasquatch book, page 242 we read about a man from Gary, Indiana who reported seeing a 10-foot tall Sasquatch in the Yukon; it left tracks approximately 18 to 22 inches long. It's hard to imagine something that tall and that cumbersome being able to negotiate the dense underbrush much less any deadfall that often hampers one's right of way in old growth forests. How does something ten feet tall sneak up on anything? It is hard to imagine any kind of stealth from something that big, that high; ten feel tall, the width of the creature's shoulders must be unimaginable.
I remember Thomas Steenburg mentioning the tallest Sasquatch ever recorded was allegedly something like 15-feet tall. In 1969, it was reported by 5 workmen up at the Bighorn Dam site in Western Alberta, Canada, not far from Nordegg. The account goes on, “…two of the men went up to the creature's location after it moved off and stood in the same place. The men who stayed below were amazed that their friend appeared to be only half as tall as the creature was while it was in view; that is how they concluded it was 15 feet tall.” Sounds more like a careless calculation.
According to Steenburg, from the late 1960's until 1984, there was a rash of very large creature reports all happening within a hundred mile radius of Nordegg in Alberta. Nobody reported 15 feet again, but several reports came in around 12 to 13 feet tall. Normal size seven & eight footers were also reported in the same region.
Steenburg did write that Ronald Gumel reported two Bigfoot standing on the David Thompson Road near Windy Point and he said they were over 12 feet tall. Generally that kind of weight is supported by four legs; I cannot help but wonder how two legs support such a height and weight? I also wondered if the height in Sasquatches was also pituitary problem as it is with the humans who are uncommonly tall?
If we take anything away from these examples it must be to marvel at the high number of Sasquatch reports that speak to the length of gait and the smoothness with which they manage the power of their locomotion. What a remarkable feat it is when we compare it to the civilized human person of the same height & weight; we are wimps by comparison.
Without the exceptional muscle toning & development, the Sasquatch most likely wouldn't survive, or I would imagine that would be so especially if hunting techniques were dependent upon his stealth & strength. His conditioning would have to be maintained lest he rely on others to provide for him. It must be all about muscle conditioning and I imagine a special genetic coding for these physical traits.
